Dhaka, The 16th meeting of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Religious Affairs of the 11th National Parliament was held today at the National Parliament Building under the chairmanship of the Committee President Md. Hafez Ruhul Amin Madani. Committee members Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Jinnatul Bakia, Mosa Tahmina Begum and Ratna Ahmed participated in the meeting.In the meeting, the implementation progress of the decisions taken in the 15th meeting and the activities of ‘Upcoming Hajj 2023’ were discussed in detail. The Committee recommends that the air fare of Hajj passengers be reduced from Tk.197,797 to Tk. The meeting recommended the Ministry to take measures to include doctors specializing in heart, asthma and diabetes in the medical team sent to treat Hajj pilgrims.The Committee recommends early completion of the program of inclusion of Bangladeshi students studying in various universities in Saudi Arabia to assist Hajj pilgrims. Senior officials of the ministry and senior officials of the National Parliament Secretariat along with the Director General of Islami Foundation were present in the meeting.
