Teaching should be done digitally to create smart human resources: Mustafa Jabbar

Teaching in digital mode is much more attractive than traditional teaching method and effective method for creating smart human resources. Students are able to master the one-year syllabus easily in three to four months and teachers, students, education related officials and management committee officials are claiming that the enrollment and regular attendance rate of students has increased many times due to the delivery of lessons in digital mode. Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said these things while inspecting the digital education program of Banshbari Government Primary School of Ashulia Police Station today.

This project is being implemented with funding from BTRC’s Social Responsibility Fund for digital transformation of government primary school education in underprivileged remote and remote areas. Under this project, 650 primary schools and 28 neighborhood centers of hilly Chittagong are implementing digital content teaching programs on digital devices.

During the inspection of the project activities, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications expressed the experience of the project in primary schools and neighborhood centers in remote and deprived areas of the country. There is a demand to provide digital content in all the schools which have computers. Minister Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said that digital teaching method is a very fruitful integrated method for creating smart human resource. Digital learning does not mean PowerPoint presentations or televised classes for students. Digital content of education is the introduction of education on digital devices with software programmed with interactive, image, audio, video, animation, text and other multimedia content of the standard curriculum for teaching on digital devices.

Director General of Department of Telecommunications Md. Rafiqul Islam. Vijay Digital Chief Executive Officer Jasmine Akhtar Jui, Project Director Engineer Abdul Wahab, Savar Upazila Executive Officer Md Mazharul Islam, Upazila Primary Education Officer Najmush Shihab, Banshbari Government Primary School Management Committee President Mohammad Ali and Head Teacher Moksed Ali were present.

Jasmin Akhtar Jui emphasized on the importance of quality digital content in the digital transformation of education, saying that a good content contributes effectively to the development of children’s talent. He highlighted the various technical aspects of creating digital content for education and described his experience of the past 14 years in this sector. Pointing out that there is a need to update the content constantly, he said, creating digital content in line with the curriculum is an ongoing process. He mentioned that in the year 2022, we have been able to complete content creation up to class 5 after long efforts. Trained teachers gave their feedback on the occasion. They termed this program of digital transformation of education as an unprecedented initiative and sought the support of the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications to extend the project to class five in all primary schools in the country instead of limiting it to only 650 schools. The minister assured them of full cooperation in this matter and said that I have fulfilled the responsibility of the guide.

Laptops, Smart TVs, Digital Content, IPS and Solar Panels are provided to 1978 classrooms in 650 primary schools and 28 neighborhood centers under the project. Apart from this, 16 primary teachers were given a two-day training. Apart from this, in a concerted effort by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) from the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund to digitize fifty classrooms in 11 primary schools in Dhaka and outside Dhaka, one for each classroom.
