Selection Committee of Cabinet for appointment of ACC Commissioners

The cabinet department has constituted a five-member selection committee to recommend the appointment of Commissioners of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Monday (April 10) Cabinet Secretary. In a notification signed by Mahbub Hossain, the formation of this committee is said.
Justice M Inayetur Rahim has been made the chairman of the selection committee for the appointment of the Commissioner of the ACC. Other members are – Justice J. B. M. Hasan, Chief Accountant and Controller Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Chairman of the Public Works Commission. Sohrab Hossain and recently retired Cabinet Secretary Kabir bin Anwar.
According to the notification, the post of one Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission will fall vacant soon. This selection committee has been constituted under Section 7 of the ACC Act-2004 to recommend the appointment of a Commissioner to that post.
In the notification regarding the scope of work of the selection committee, it is said that the selection committee, for the purpose of recommending the appointment of the commissioner, based on the decision of at least three members present, prepare a list of names of two persons against each vacant post of the commission to the President for appointment under section-6 of the said Actwill sendThe quorum of the Selection Committee shall be formed in the presence of at least four members. The Cabinet Division will provide necessary secretarial support to the said selection committee.
