The 18th meeting of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the 11th National Parliament was held today at the Parliament Building.
Under the chairmanship of Sheikh Fazlul Karim Saleem, the committee’s president, committee members and Minister of Health and Welfare Ministry Zahid Malek, Mohibur Rahman Manik, Mohammad Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, Md. Abdul Aziz and Rahgir Almahi Ershad participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the work of EDCA’s 3rd plant (Gopalganj) project, the latest status of supply of goods and machineries procured by Fabtech Technology Ltd and the overall affairs of National Institute of Heart Disease were discussed.
In the meeting, it was recommended to speed up the work of EDCA’s 3rd Plant (Gopalganj) project by ensuring supply of goods and machineries procured by Fabtech technology Ltd as per the quality specified in the tender notice.
Besides, the successful treatment of complex diseases like heart, kidney, liver and cancer is now taking place in Bangladesh, so the parliamentary committee suggested doctors and hospital authorities to play a more sincere and responsible role in informing and assuring patients not to go abroad for treatment.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and other senior officials of the Ministry, the Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and the concerned officials of the National Parliament Secretariat
