Industries Ministry recommends not to lease any land

The 14th meeting of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Industry of the 11th National Parliament was held today at the Sangsad Bhawan under the chairmanship of the committee president Amir Hossain Amu.
Committee members Minister-in-Charge Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, State Minister Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, AKM Fazlul Haque, Mehmed Sahiduzzaman and Kazim Uddin Ahmed participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, “Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation Bill, 2022” and “Bangladesh Industrial Design Bill, 2022” were thoroughly examined in the Committee. The Committee unanimously recommended that the Bills be tabled in the National Assembly in an experimentally amended form for subsequent purposes.
In the meeting, the progress of the project work of ‘Modernization of BSTI Regional Offices at Chattagram & Khulna) (1st revised) and setting targets in the manufacturing sector by the year 2025 according to the 8th fifth annual plan and the progress of the implementation of the decisions taken in the previous meetingis reviewed.The Committee recommends the Ministry to take appropriate measures to ensure that no more land is leased from the Ministry of Industry in future.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, the Additional Secretaries of the Ministry, the heads of various organizations and the relevant officials of the Ministry and Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting
