DHAKA, March 20, 2022 – President M Abdul Hamid asked Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to increase the use of information technology (IT) to make commission’s activities vibrant as its delegation submitted its ‘annual reports of 2020 and 2021’ to him at Bangabhaban this evening.
The President also directed the ACC, the anti-graft body, to take effective measures to ensure that corrupt persons could get impunity in no way, President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS after the submission of the reports.
He, Abedin said, also asked the ACC to ensure transparency and accountability of the officials involved in the investigation process.
Terming corruption as the major barrier to the development and progress, the President put emphasis on the prevention rather than remedy in curbing corruption.
During the meeting, the ACC chairman briefed the President on various aspects of the report and the overall activities of the commission.
ACC Commissioners – Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan and Md Zahurul Haque and Secretary Mohammad Mahbub Hossain were in the delegation.
President’s Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin, Secretary (attachment) Md Wahidul Islam Khan and Election Commission Secretary Md Humayun Kabir Khandaker were also present on the occasion.
