Actress Mahia Mahi has been arrested by the police in a Digital Security Act case filed against her for maligning the image of the police. After his arrest, he was sent to jail by the court.
The police filed a seven-day remand application for Mahia Mahi in the Gazipur court on Saturday afternoon. The court judge ordered to send him to prison without granting remand.
Earlier, Mahi was arrested from the capital’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport when he returned home after performing Umrah at around 11:30 on Saturday.
It is to be noted that two separate cases have been filed against actress Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar in Gazipur’s Basan Police Station on charges of land grabbing and tarnishing the image of the police. In between, SI Rokon Mia of GMP’s Basan police station filed a case under the Digital Security Act. The other case was filed by the victim Ismail Hossain, a resident of Dighirchala area of Basan police station. In this case, the couple was accused of taking the land by force. A few others have been accused in the case. Both the cases were committed on Friday night.
At that time, GMP Commissioner Mollya Nazrul Islam said that Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar accused Gazipur Metropolitan Police of taking ‘bribe’ on their Facebook page live. Mahi and her husband tried to get people’s sympathy by lying on social media Facebook. He also complained against the police. They are on a mission to debunk the police. But neither Mahi nor her husband came to me with any matter related to land. I do not even know those against whom he has complained today. Police filed a case against them at Vasan police station at 8:55 pm under the Digital Security Act (ICT) for the crime of spreading false, fabricated, indecent and defamatory information to defame the image of the police and cause deterioration of law and order.
Meanwhile, the victim Ismail Hossain, a resident of Dighirchala area of Bassan police station, filed another case against Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar on the charge of forcible land occupation. 27 to 28 people were accused in this case.
Dhakai film actress Mahia Mahi, who went to perform Umrah with her husband, came live on her Facebook page from Makkah, Saudi Arabia on Friday morning and complained that the Soniraj Car Palace showroom owned by Ismail Hossain Laden and Mamun Sarkar was attacked at around 5 am on Friday morning. The attackers broke the gate of the showroom and entered inside, vandalized various furniture including doors and windows, chairs, tables and removed the signboards of the showroom. At that time they ransacked the office and looted money. When Rakib Sarkar’s people rushed to the spot after receiving the news, the attackers fled. From that page, her husband Rakib Sarkar accused the police of occupying the opponent’s land in exchange of a bribe of about one and a half crores.
